Zombie mask sculpt

Started this today. I wanted to create a convincing zombie mask. The tricky bit was the nose but I think I made it work.

First Orc mask

So here is the first latex pull with a quick paint job.

Orc mask moulded

I moulded the orc mask today. Its a one piece plaster mould. I can do this as I sculpt on a collapsible head cast. This means I can remove the head cast and clay through the neck openning. You save alot of time not having to build walls and means you have no nasty split lines to clean up in the castings later.

I have been asked to do new masks for Fools and heroes larp. So I thought I would start with the orc. Probably one of the most used baddies in any system. This at about 10hrs scuplt time and is finished barring any tweaks/changes that may need to be done.

Dragon armour finished

Hi all. I have finally finished the armour. I changed the shoulders and also sculpted the eagle shoulder plate as an alternative to just a plain one. I am going to do a dragon design shoulder as well so it is in keeping with the overall theme. The eagle design is a character piece for my LARP character.

Hello all.
Sorry I have not been around for a while. Work, holiday, illness and christmas have kept me busy, but its the new year and I am on the go again. New pics and projects will be up soon.

Demon boar mask

Thought I would pop this up. I worked on this the end of august but wasnt sure weither to post it yet. It took me 7 days to sculpt, mould, cast out and paint up. I would of liked a little longer but I had to much on and just didnt have the time. I am going to redo the paint job and will post pics of that when I am happy.

Elven longsword finaly sculpted

Sorry all. I have been neglecting the blog. Work has been crazy and I have been up in London a lot lately. I have even had a bit of film work which has been the first in a while.

But I had some time over the last few days and needed to chill out so I have finished the elven longsword basket hilt sculpt. Not sure how I am going to mould it yet and I will most definitely show the process for that as it will be a challenge.

Dragon is almost done

The dragon armour is almost finished. I have moulded all the pieces, but there are still some to cast out. I will get the last bits done and the armour assembled in the next week or so.

Mystic mask

I have been sculpting masks for the live role play society Fools and Heroes. This is one I have just finished. The creature is meant to be an old and wizened mystic.

Finished Angel staff

I finaly finished the Angel staff. This has been a concept of mine for years but the process and the materials to make it have taken a while to come together. The angel head piece is a soft flexible resin, filled with foam. It also needed to be reinforced so the the arms did not sag down, but at the same time have nothing inside that could be dangerous.

Skull mace

I have been asked to make some maces with a skull theme. This Is the begining of the design. It will be a 6 pronged flanged mace with this piece repeated for each flange.

Mages Angel topped staff

This is something I have been working on for ages and need to get finished. So I have been sculpting in the evenings try to get it complete. It will be ready for moulding as soon as I repair the damage to the wing. That happen in the casting as I only sculpted one wing and moulded it. It is symmetrical so it could mirrored for the opposite side.

Dragon armour thigh plates

Hi all. I have been working hard and thought I better show you what I have been up to as I have been neglecting the blog.

I want to get the Dragon knight armour finished in the next couple of weeks so I have been hard and fast. I clarified in my head how I wanted the legs plates to work and they have come along nicely. The upper arm plates will be next and will follow the same design. Lower legs and then lower arms will be last and complete the set.
